Our Programs and Initiatives
The Upsilon Nu Nu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. supports the fraternity’s 12 mandated programs, which reflect a continued commitment to service, scholarship, community engagement, and the uplift of others. Through these initiatives, the chapter works to positively impact the Newberry community while upholding the cardinal principles of Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift.
Achievement Week
Achievement Week is an annual observance designed to recognize individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to their communities while celebrating the accomplishments and ideals of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
STEM Initiatives
The chapter supports science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education by encouraging youth to explore careers and opportunities in these critical fields through engagement and exposure.
Memorial Service
The Memorial Service program honors deceased members of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and recognizes their contributions to the fraternity and the communities they served.
Fatherhood and Mentoring
This initiative promotes responsible fatherhood and provides mentorship opportunities that encourage positive role models, leadership development, and guidance for young men
College Endowment Fund
The Omega Psi Phi College Endowment Fund provides financial support to historically Black colleges and universities and supports educational advancement through scholarships and institutional assistance.
NAACP
The fraternity works in partnership with the NAACP to support initiatives focused on civil rights, equality, and social justice within communities
Scholarship
The chapter promotes academic excellence through scholarship initiatives that recognize students who demonstrate strong academic performance, leadership potential, and community involvement.
Social Action
The Social Action program focuses on addressing community issues through engagement, advocacy, and initiatives that promote positive change.
Health Initiatives
Health initiatives promote awareness and education related to physical and mental health through community outreach and wellness-focused programming.
Talent Hunt Program
The Talent Hunt Program provides young people with opportunities to showcase their talents in areas such as music, drama, visual arts, and other creative disciplines.
Voter Registration, Education, and Mobilization
This initiative encourages civic engagement by promoting voter registration, education, and participation in the democratic process.
Reclamation and Retention
Focuses on reconnecting with inactive members and strengthening engagement within the fraternity through outreach and fellowship..
